“For many years, AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia has had a history of investing in the communities we serve to help our members remove barriers to quality health and wellness,” said Karen M. Dale, market president of AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia.

“We are committed to providing opportunities that will address and potentially eliminate the social determinants of health that often prevent many people from leading healthy and more fulfilling lives. It is very rewarding to see that the work we do to help people throughout the District of Columbia access quality health care is recognized and is making a true impact.”

The plan has implemented a variety of innovative programs to better serve its members, including partnering with local businesses to help members better access healthy food to providing reliable transportation to medical appointments for expectant mothers.

“We are dedicated to developing a variety of ways for our members to adopt healthier habits and improve their health literacy,” Dale said. “We believe that being innovative and keeping the members’ experience top of mind is helping us deliver quality service and support for those in greatest need.”
