AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia Maintains Quality Excellence

National accreditation body recognizes Medicaid plan for consumer satisfaction and clinical quality

November 18, 2021 - Washington, D.C.

AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia, a Medicaid managed care plan serving the District of Columbia and a member of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, announced it received a rating of 3.5 out of 5 in the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA’s) Health Plan Ratings 2021: Medicaid. The health plan retains the rating that it received in NCQA’s previous Health Plan Ratings in 2019.

AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia earned its 3.5 out of 5 rating based on results from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®), a tool that measures performance on important dimensions of care and service, as well as the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey, which measures members’ satisfaction with their overall health care experience.

“We take great care to understand the needs of our members to continually improve their health outcomes and experience. Our score comprises NCQA’s rigorous standards as well as important feedback from providers and the members we serve,” said AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia Market President Karen Dale. “Taken together, with the Multicultural Health Care distinction we received earlier this year from NCQA, AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia continues to demonstrate performance excellence, while offering compassionate and culturally responsive whole-person care."
