Effective January 1, 2027, AmeriHealth Caritas DC Healthy DC Plan enrollees have access to adult dental services.

Choosing your PDP

Your primary dental provider (PDP) will help you get the dental care you need. Choose a PDP when you enroll in AmeriHealth Caritas DC.

• If your current PDP is a provider in AmeriHealth Caritas DC’s network, you may stay with that dentist.
• If you don’t have a PDP, you can choose from a list of dentists in our Provider Directory.
• Call Enrollee Services at 1‑844‑214‑2470 (TTY 711) if you need help choosing a dentist.
• If you do not choose a PDP, we will choose one for you. If you do not like the PDP we choose for you, you may change your PDP. Call Enrollee Services at 1‑844‑214‑2470 (TTY 711) to change your PDP.
• You can change your PDP at any time.

Covered dental benefits for adults age 21 and older include:

• Diagnostic services: Oral evaluations, exams, and diagnostic X-rays.
• Preventive care: Routine teeth cleanings and fluoride treatments.
• Restorative procedures: Fillings and repairs to treat cavities.
• Endodontic and periodontal care: Treatments like root canals and gum treatments when medically necessary.
• Oral surgery: Tooth extractions (simple and surgical) and related anesthesia.
• Prosthodontics: Dentures or partial dentures, subject to specific guidelines or prior authorization requirements.
